BESOMS AND BROOMSTICKS
A symbol of balance as it contains both male and female aspects, the Besom has long been associated with Witchcraft and magic. Said to carry witches and their familiars to sacred ritual places, they have certainly contributed their share of history. As a fertility symbol, they have also been used in handfastings, purification and healing rituals and spells. The Besom is also used to sweep away negativity as well as creating magic circles.
