Wycksted Homestead
The Homestead in which Wycksted works from is an old home, my home that is made from many recycled timbers and parts. Timber materials, windows and doors in some of the rooms are over 100 years old and come from a variety of areas in New Zealand each with their own design and energy creating a hotchpotch and a rather unique house.
For over a third of a century this has been home to Witches, Heathens and Pagans alike. Births, life and death of loved ones, family and familiars have featured and many a ghost and spirit left to wander the land and frequent the home.
Coven meets, workshops and gatherings have been held, celebrations of the Sabbats and the seasons of nature’s wheel changing around us. The house changing too with signs of the Crone and Grandfather Sage more apparent as the house too wanes and moves with the ebbing flow of the moon and seasons. Decorations from the outdoors being brought inside to adorn the rooms and thresholds change the energy and enforce the bond of nature within.
Wycksted is a home that reflects what is happening at the time, it is a place where one can be themselves, frolic and dance, feast and dine, craft and conjure or simply rest and regenerate. Animals rule and run wild to the best of their abilities joined with animals and familiars that have since past but always in our hearts and soul.
It is also a place of hard work, where trees give way to the winds, firewood always needed, fences sag like ones old skin, floods occur and grass grows at a rate that even the sheep cannot keep up with. There is always something to do and as we know the seasons do not wait so always keeping in mind what is to come and prepare the best one can.
