Now that we are in a time where we can write and record our magickal spells, rituals and events, stationery is a much needed item. To hand write a spell using a quill and ink by the light of a candle, or to seal a letter with sealing wax, transports us back to a mystical time gone by. The Book of Shadows does not have a long history as most magic and lore was passed on throughout the centuries by word and mouth, through family, friends and covens. This name derives from the concept that although some Witches kept their Magickal practices recorded in diary’s or books, they had to remain hidden from those who would have persecuted them, thus kept “in the shadows.” Nowadays as Witchcraft is more accepted, the Book of Shadows is a valuable tool.
