ALLIUM SATIVUM (Garlic) Said to guard against vampires, psychic energy drainers, evil and the plague. Add in protection incense and sachets.
ANGELICA ROOT (Angelica Archangelica) Use for banishing negativity in general, healing blends and protection spells and magic. Add to incense mixes to remove hexes and negativity.
ANISE (Pimpinella anisum) Used in protection spells and magick. Add to incense blends to help with vision work.
ARNICA FLOWERS (Arnica montana) To help bring balance and calm back into one´s life. Wear in healing sachets, burn Arnica to restore balance.
ASAFOETIDA (Ferula foetida) Used for banishing, protection and purification spells and magick.
BARLEY (Hordeum vulgare L) Aka Bere, Lammas grain. The oldest cultivated grain, Pearl Barley is the most common form. It is husked, steamed and then polished. Pot Barley is the whole grain with the inedible outer husk removed. Added to soups, stews, the old fashioned barley water and porridge. Barley is used for making beers and whiskey. In magick its energies are for comforting, fertility, money matters, nurturing and positive sex magick. It is a symbol of the Lammas and harvest festivals.

BLACK WALNUT HULL (Juglans nigra) Used in protection and banishing magick. Helps to severe ties with negative energies and difficult relationships.
BLADDERWRACK (Fucus vesiculosus) Aka Black Tang, Dyers Fucus, Herb ‘o’ the Sea, Rock Weed, Rock Wrack, Sea Oak and Sea Spirit. A seaweed found on the Coasts of the North Sea, Baltic Sea, Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Said to be protective of anyone who enters the waters with good intent. Helps one connect to the Ocean, Sea and Water Deities and Water Elementals. Throwing Bladderwrack into the sea may summon the Spirits of the ocean waters to help in your magickal workings including Sea and Wind spells. Also used in cleansings, healing, money matters and enhances the vibrations for positive magick.
BLESSED THISTLE (Centaurea benedicta) Aka Holy Thistle. Add to sachets and wear to protect yourself from negativity in general disharmony from outer influences. Add to purification baths and cleansing formulae.
BLOODROOT POWDER (Sanguinaria Canadensis) Aka Coon Root, Indian Paint, Paucon, Red Root, Snakebite. Sweet Slumber and Tetterwort. Bloodroot is used as a protecting herb of the family hence the ‘blood ties,’ wards off evil and helps to draw love towards one. The root has long been used by the American Indians as a dye for their bodies and clothes.
BONESET (Eupatorium perfoliatum) aka Indian Sage, Crosswort, Feverwort. Wards off evil and negative spirits. Protection and banishing herb.
BORAGE (Borago officinalis) A herb of courage and was eaten by many warriors and soldiers before they went into battle. It is said to help lift melancholy and cheer the spirit. Used for protection, to enhance psychic powers and bring inspiration.
BUCKWHEAT (Fagopyrum esculentum) Aka Beechwheat, Brank, Fagopyrum sagittatum, Grano Turco, Saracen Corn and Sarrasin. This is not actually a wheat and is related to the rhubarb family. The triangular grain of Buckwheat is ground and made into flour, pasta, blinis and makes lovely pancakes. BUTCHERS BROOM ROOT(Ruscus aculeatus) Folk names are Kneeholy. Knee Holly. Kneeholm. Jew's Myrtle. Sweet Broom and Pettigree. Used in divination, protection, wind and cleansing spells. Brooms were made to sweep the floor of Butcher market stalls thus the name.
BUTTERBUR ROOT (Petasites hybridus) Also known as Blatterdock, Bogshorns, Butter-Dock and Capdockin. Used in love divination and spells, sweetens the heart and helps to uplift the spirit.

It is said that the Fae use the flowers as clothing particularly as in skirts and cloaks and that the seed pods are known as Fairy cheese due to the pods being shaped like an old fashioned wheel of cheese.

MANDRAKE, AMERICAN (Podophyllum peltaltum) Also known as May Apple Root. Add to all sachets, incense and herb blends for protection, love, health and purification. Used as a substitute for European Mandrake.
MARJORAM (Origanum vulgare) Organic herb also known as Wintersweet, Pot Marjoram or Sweet Marjoram. A herb of happiness, love and protection. Ideal for use in all Kitchen Witchery.
MARSHMALLOW LEAF/ROOT (Althea officinalis) Aka Althea, Mallow Plant, Malvavisco, and Sweet Weed. A herbaceous perennial plant native to Europe, North Africa and Western Asia. Marshmallow Leaf has mucilage properties (the root contains more) but still makes it ideal to use as a herbal syrup or light lubricant and has thus been used in fertility, love and sex magick.
