Aka Bitter Kola, Cola and Kola.
Native to rain forests of West Africa, the evergreen Kola Nut tree contains caffeine and is used in ceremonies and traditional medicines. In Igbo land (Southern Nigeria) the Kola nut symbolizes goodwill, integrity, kindness, peace, and unity. In the 1880’s a pharmacist in Georgia, USA took caffeine extracted from the Kola nuts and other flavourings and invented Coca-cola, the first massive soft drink.
