The oldest cultivated grain, Pearl Barley is the most common form. It is husked, steamed and then polished. Pot Barley is the whole grain with the inedible outer husk removed. Added to soups, stews, the old fashioned barley water and porridge. Barley is used for making beers and whiskey. In magick its energies are for comforting, fertility, money matters, nurturing and positive sex magick. It is a symbol of the Lammas and harvest festivals. Careful with the latter! 50gm
