Aka Bitter Thistle, Blessed Cardus, Cursed Thistle, Holy Thistle, Our Lady’s Thistle or St Benedicts Thistle.
Blessed Thistle is named because of its use as a tonic amongst the Benedictine Monks in the 14th Century. The Thistle represents bravery, determination, devotion and strength.
