Calavera Skull S3

$9.00

The Day of the Dead, “Dia de los Muertos” is celebrated in Mexico and other countries on the 1st and 2nd of November respectively. Some areas celebrate from 30th October-2nd November. This is a time when death and the Underworld is celebrated, embraced and honoured, a special time for all. Families get together and tidy and decorate the gravesides of their loved ones with offerings of trinkets, other gifts and favourite foods. Altars and small shrines are built in many of the homes. These are also decorated. A common symbol of the holiday is the skull or Calavera. Decorated in bright colours, these are gifts that can be given to both the living and the dead. Mainly placed on the altar, they are also placed on graves in the cemeteries and even to adorn the festive table. These skulls can also be used as an offering to our deceased pets.

These Calaveras are approx. 9cm in height and made for polyresin.
